Title: Journeyman Machinist

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
Operate machine tools--manual and/or CNC lathes, mills, cylindrical grinders, and other shop equipment--with precision accuracy in accordance with blueprint or job specification.
Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
Machine prototypes to drawing specifications using machine tools such as manual & CNC milling machines and lathes.
Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate parts to the desired dimensions and tolerances.
Programs CNC machines
Confers with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel in order to exchange technical information.
Ensures products can be made again reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments.
Works with technical personnel to adapt new technologies or technological improvements in pre and post-analytical processes.
Flexible schedule (off shift, OT, weekends)
High School Diploma or equivalent.
FIive (5) years of experience as a machinist.
Working knowledge of 5S, manual machine tools, precision measurement instruments, and reading blueprints, CNC programming, CNC program interpretation, and program loading/set-up.
